Vero Beach, FLA (October 20, 2017) — Indian River Medical Center (IRMC) welcomes board certified internist and dermatologist Lilia Correa-Selm to its multi-specialty group of physicians.
Dr. Correa-Selm brings to the institution many assets as her training has been a very diverse one. She was the Chief Resident during her dermatology residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and then completed a Mohs and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship in Affiliated Dermatologists and Dermatologic Surgeons at the Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. She is also an international dermatologist from her home country (Venezuela), where she attended medical school.
After graduating from medical school, she spent one year as a physician in a remote underserved area of South America. Subsequently, she performed research at Harvard’s renowned Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cornell New York Downtown Hospital and performed research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer in New York. Dr. Correa’s experience also includes completing a confocal microscopy fellowship and performing multiple clinical trials involving laser related treatment, cosmeceuticals and body contouring.
