VERO BEACH, Fla. (August 30, 2018) — Indian River Medical Center has added three new physicians to its medical staff.
Alfonsina Garcia-Bracero, M.D., earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Universidad de Puerto Rico before completing her medical education at University of Health Sciences Antigua. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at San Juan City Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she was also chief resident. Dr. Garcia-Bracero provides a wide range of women’s services and has extensive experience managing high-risk pregnancies. She is currently seeing patients at two convenient locations: Partners in Women’s Health at 1050 37th Place in Vero Beach; and Premier Women’s Health at 801 Wellness Way in Sebastian. James Gordon, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School. After a surgical internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, and an internal medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Gordon served as a National Institutes of Health Research Fellow and is board certified in gastroenterology. He was an assistant professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and assistant professor of clinical medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Gordon is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Gastroenterological Association, and is currently accepting new patients at the Health and Wellness Center located on the campus of Indian River Medical Center. Ivana Parody, M.D., received her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba Facultad de Ciencias Medicas in Argentina, where she ranked first in her class. After an internal medicine internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, where she was named resident of the year,she completed a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Parody is board certified in internal medicine and a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Rheumatology and the Rheumatology-Dermatology Society. She earned USSONAR certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound, participated in several rheumatology research studies and has particular interest in integrative medicine.
