About Stephen Patterson, M.D.
Dr. Patterson specializes in Medical Oncology. He diagnoses and treats cancer and helps coordinate care provided by other specialists. Stephen Patterson, M.D., is a board-certified Medical Oncologist with 25 years of experience in both academic and private practice settings. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and an elected board member of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Patterson completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and his graduate studies at the University of South Florida College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency followed by a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He later held academic and executive appointments at Moffitt Cancer Center, Nevada Cancer Institute and Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Patterson has served on committees, given national lectures, conducted extensive research, participated in clinical trials and published many works on prostate, testicular, bladder and lung cancers. He was also one of the first to investigate the impact of PD1 modulation in metastatic melanoma and lung cancer, a therapy now curing patients with metastatic disease.
