Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital has full-service primary care practices that include Internists, and Family Medicine physicians.
Family Medicine physicians provide continuing, comprehensive health care for the whole family, both children and adults.
Internal Medicine physicians care for patients over 18. They focus on comprehensive medicine specifically preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases that affect adults such as high-blood pressure and diabetes.
The goal of our primary care physicians is to provide continuing care for patients, which may include disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling and patient education as well as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
Primary care is managed by a personal physician often collaborating with other health professionals, and utilizing consultation or referral as appropriate. The primary care setting promotes effective communication with patients and encourages the role of the patient as a partner in health care.
